My pitch

Hi, my name is KENT and come from Malaysian. After   studying 3 months in UST, I found that the food choices in canteens are limited and not able to satisfy the students here. Due to the changing of education system in Hong Kong, next year we will have more new local students come to UST. Apart from that, UST also has a larger number of international students among the universities in Hong Kong.  So I have a great idea that there should have extended one more canteen in UST. Then, the extended canteen should have comprised of vegetarian foods, halal foods for Muslim, Indian foods and fast foods as well. As the matter of fact, if the problems related to food choices and the deficiency of canteen facilities can be settled, of course, this can prevent the situation of too many UST students wasting their time for searching seats during the lunchtime peak hours. Next, they also have various types of food choices. As you know, the existing generation Y has actively participated in the issues related to university affairs and conflicts. They demanded to know every fact and try to argue with you in order to achieve perfect status. There are some examples, like they post the comment on complaint board if they are unsatisfied with the services or some issues and the representative of student union also often engage with SAO in order to solve the existing problems, which concerned by the UST students. So if SAO implement my idea into the projects, it will be more convenient for the staff, professors and students to enjoy their meals. It is also unambiguous that the problems of complaints will be decreased. Beyond that, it is true that the improvement of the canteen services will increase the flexibility of the food choices and controllability of the complaints. My final goals are to provide more food choices for students and also provide enough space for students during the lunchtime hours. For instances, due to the different culture background students who are vegetarian and Muslims, they don’t have to suffer more on the monotonous foods menu list. During the lunchtime peak hours, students also don’t have to waste their time for searching seats. Last but not least, I will need the monetary supports and conduct a survey by asking UST students or staff members from the SAO so that my plan can be executed successfully.
